It cosmetics cc cream

Hello there! Today I have a review of a foundation I’ve been waiting forever to try. It Cosmetics is quite hard to find in Canada, but I knew The Shopping Channel sold it. After attending a Cityline taping and receiving a $25 gift card, I decided to pick up the CC cream! Dealing with The Shopping Channel was a nightmare (which I’ll get into later), but after using the CC cream for a bit, I’m really impressed!

Overview:

A full coverage foundation that lasts all day but very limited shade selection.

Price:

$89.95 CAD for the ‘super size’ plus the brush on The Shopping Channel. (I paid around $25 CAD as I had a gift card and it was on special)

Rating:

8/10

Would I Buy Again?

Yup!!

Rambling Review

So let me start with the nightmare around The Shopping Channel. Skip this paragraph if you want to get straight to the CC cream review. I waited until the It Cosmetics CC cream was on special with The Shopping Channel which dropped the price of the brush and the foundation to around $50. I bought it on the website selecting “Light” as my shade. A couple of days later I got a phone call to my house mentioning that there was an issue with their computer system and they weren’t sure, but thought I ordered the shade “Medium”. Before I could get home and call to say I ordered “Light” (my mom texted me about the phone call), I got an email to say that “Medium” was shipped. Great? What was the point of the phone call then? After receiving “Medium” a couple of days later, I had to call, get a return ID, and ship it back. At least it was free. After shipping it back in March, I didn’t get my correct shade mailed to me until MAY. Two full months. I couldn’t believe it. At the one month mark, I called and all the call centre guy said it was on back order. Couldn’t they have told me that? After him saying that I definitely have reason to believe they sent me the “Medium” on purpose hoping that I wouldn’t ask for the “Light” because it was out of stock. The lack of communication really irked me and also the fact that I didn’t get my product until 2 months after sending back the WRONG one they sent me. I filled out numerous customer service surveys about this and The Shopping Channel hasn’t contacted me about it. If I can say anything, DON’T go with The Shopping Channel if you can. So unhappy with the service. I also heard that It Cosmetics is coming to Sephora and can’t wait for that.

Okay back to our regularly scheduled review.

The It Cosmetics CC cream has been on my list for awhile. I’ve heard about it in YouTube videos and blog posts all over and was looking forward to trying it. The It Cosmetics website describes it as:

“This highly pigmented multi-tasking beauty miracle truly covers everything, will not crease or crack in fine lines, and gives you a healthy, Your Skin But Better® glow. Paraben-free and SPF 50+ UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum, Physical Only, Non-Chemical Sunscreen.”

One of the main reasons I’ve wanted to try it was the SPF. All the foundations I’ve been using recently do not have SPF in their formulas.

A couple of things I noticed right away was the consistency of it. It was a lot thicker than I expected. It also smells like lemons which was surprising but pleasant.

I noticed that the best way for me to wear it was actually with no moisturizer. Sometimes I’d use primer but it wasn’t always necessary. The cream is so thick that any extra moisturizer made the consistency sit on my face a bit strange.

Probably the best thing about this foundation was the long wear. I love my MUFE Ultra HD/ HD foundations, but it breaks down around my nose throughout the day. This one with literally nothing else on my face other than powder lasted all day. Amazing!

The only con is that I think there is a very limited shade selection. As you can see from my swatches above, the Light is a bit dark for my skin tone. I’m hoping during the summer it will match me better. There are 5 shades to this CC cream: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, and Rich. Fair would be much too light and Medium would have definitely been too dark. Right now, this is the reason I’m not wearing this everyday.

Quickly about the brush, I would say that it works well, but nothing out of this world. I actually usually end up using my fingers to blend it in.

Hope that review was helpful if you were interested in this foundation! Thanks so much for reading! Hope you have a great day!

  1. Wooooow that problem with the shopping channel is HUGE! Not only is it bad for them, but for the companies… considering people will associate where they buy the products with that company (TSC.) I can’t believe they would ship you a medium and hope that you wouldn’t notice! That’s horrible. I think you’d have better luck letting IT cosmetics know and they would be unhappy to hear about that associated with their products.
ANYWAY – glad that you like it and it sounds like a good product! I’ll definitely check it out if it’s at Sephora haha

    1. Yeah it was an actual nightmare experience. Never again! Even with a gift card! It is a good product and I’m soooo waiting for it to be at Sephora!

  2. I think this is the product that Viviannadoesmakeup and fleur de force love, but I’m not huge into cc creams. I’ve had issues ordering with the shopping channel before as well, but Sears and The Bay still hold the title for being the absolute work in terms of customer service in my opinion. I’m glad that you can at least use the product, and it wasn’t a complete waste!

    1. Fair enough! Yeah the consistency I think is what really makes it a ‘cc’. Pretty similar to any regular foundation though. Oh my gosh, I think I remember your stories related to the Bay! I’ve only ordered from them once and it was okay but from what I remember you saying, not a great place at all!

  3. This is the one and only CC cream that worked for me and I bloody love it! I wish it wasn’t so expensive though but good idea to wait for it until it goes on sale/special. And wow, what a nightmare with the site, I’ve read similar complains before too which puts me off from placing an order with them. Two full months?! That’s ridiculous!

    1. You’re right, it is pretty expensive. I’m kind of happy the deal was with this ‘supersize’ bottle. I didn’t even realize it was a different sized bottle until I stated looking at instagrams thinking, wow my bottle looks super long compared to that! Haha!

  4. I’ve used shopping channel twice and luckily I was ok, sorry to hear about your experience though 🙁 I hate how boring their website is LOL! I got my it cosmetics bye bye under eye concealer from shopping channel actually! The coverage is so good and I’m not surprised their cc cream is awesome too!

    1. Oh great! I’m so glad you had a good experience! Yes! I’d love to try their undereye concealer too! I just have soooo many specific ‘under eye concealers’ on the go right now!

  5. That’s some pigmented dope! I’ve yet to try more than 1 cc cream and the one I have tried is one of those color adjusting ones…but honestly it simply changes from white to about NW20. Sorry to hear about how your ordering got all jumbled up like that! That’s super frustrating that they tried to contact you and still the blunder occurred! The product itself seems super solid, I could see that tube lasting forever!

    1. Oh yes! I’ve tried those before too! It wasn’t a cc cream, but had that colour adjusting thing. Yeah I know! The experience was crazy. I’m so glad I ended up getting it though! it cosmetics is supposed to come to Sephora so it would be a lot easier for me to get!

  6. I love IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream from B-Glowing. It is one of the few brands that has my correct shade.
