Brand Collection: Wet n Wild 2017 Collection Favs

wet n wild

Hi friends! I recently got the chance to go to a Wet N Wild 2017 launch party and was gifted most of the new collection. Wet n Wild is a major drugstore favourite for me just because of the quality coupled with their unreal price point. The brand is cruelty free and PETA approved which also gets major brownie points. I’ve been trying out some of the products, and there are some definite wins that I wanted to share! There are face products, lip products, and a product to take it all off!

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Collection

Some products that I’ve been really loving are the new Photo Focus complexion items. There is a Photo Focus Foundation, Concealer and Pressed Powder.

The Photo Focus Foundation ($7.99 CAD) has no-flashback technology and actually underwent a 700 selfie test in multiple lighting environments. I’ve been really liking this foundation as it’s super long wearing. It doesn’t break down around my nose and looks great all day long. I do find the smell on application is a bit unpleasant (smells a bit of paint in my opinion), but goes away very soon after. I also wish this foundation has a pump (it comes with a paddle applicator). These are pretty small qualms though in comparison to the awesome price point for the quality! Another huge plus is 20 different shades in the collection. That’s pretty darn good!

The Photo Focus Concealer ( $5.99 CAD) is formulated with the same no-flashback technology. While using this, I think that this is actually a pretty decent dupe for the Nars Creamy Concealer. It has a pretty similar consistency and covers quite well. I’m not sure if I would be able to use this on its own with my intense dark circles, but over a foundation it’s perfection. Definitely another product that I’m reaching for a lot!

Next is the Photo Focus Pressed Powder ($5.99 CAD) which again has no-flashback. This is a perfect topper to the collection. It sets my makeup and blurs out any imperfections. I love all three products combined as they seem to work really well together. I definitely recommend!

Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks

Everyone and their dog is still on that liquid lipstick train and Wet n Wild is no exception. The Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks ($6.99 CAD) packs a pretty pigmented punch that definitely competes with the more expensive options. Each colour goes on smooth and intense. I’m also really impressed how they wear. Even though they are similar to a typical liquid lipstick in the sense that they can be a bit drying, these actually wear quite comfortably. They have a pretty decent shade range at 13, so there’s both nudes and brights that will cater to everyone’s lip wardrobe.

Highlighter and Contour

Two standout face products for me are the Dual Ended Contour Stick ($7.99 CAD) and the MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($6.99 CAD). Both these products stood out to me for their high end quality. The contour stick is super creamy and blends in like a dream. It’s easy to use and definitely a great product for that quick and easy contour. The highlights are on POINT. They give the most beautiful shine to the skin. You would never guess that these are a third of the price of a Becca highlight. Huge props to these bad boys!

Makeup Remover Micellar Water

Lastly we have the Makeup Remover Micellar Water ($5.99 CAD). You can use this for your eyes, lips and face. I love this stuff and can definitely see myself repurchasing. It removes liquid lipstick and waterproof eyeliner with no hassle at all. The packaging is pretty cute too with a flat little flower shaped pump to use with a cotton pad.

Here is a look that I created with all the products featured in this post:

The highlight is a bit hard to see under my glasses, but it’s definitely there. The shade I’m wearing in the Liquid Catsuit is Berry Recognize. I also have on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance eye palette, Urban Decay Razor Sharp eyeliner and Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach blush.

As iterated throughout this post, Wet n Wild’s price point and quality definitely make it standout from the crowd! Are there any Wet n Wild products that you love? Anything you’re excited for in the new collection?

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

  1. So neat they had a party in Toronto! You look so good with a bold berry lip! I think I only know of like 1 or 2 places for getting Wet n’ Wild here!

    1. It was so fun! Thanks Whitney! They are so tough to find. I remember when I first discovered their lipsticks I searched tons of Walmarts for them. Definitely hard to find!
