Review: Mary Kay Beauty That Counts – Baked Cheek Powder

Beauty That Counts Mary Kay Baked Cheek Powder

Mary Kay recently came out with two limited edition cheek powders in support of their Beauty that Counts campaign. Both powders are super cute in a heart-shaped compact. I’ll show you some swatches along with a bit about the charity that these products support.

My first thoughts on these were how adorable they look. Baked blushes always look so nice, but with the heart shape it really stands out! These remind me of the Too Faced baked powders, but I like that these are in a plastic compact instead of a box. One thing is that I wish these would have come with a mirror or something. These retail for $23 CAD so for that price, the packaging feels little light. With that being said though, I guess I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover right?

The first shade, Giving Heart, is a rose-y pink with a slight gold sheen. I really really like how this looks on the skin. It’s extremely natural and provides a very pretty glow! Definitely a perfect everyday blush.

The other shade, Kind Heart, is a peach tone blush/highlight. I would say this leans closer to a blush than a highlight just because of the pigmentation (which is great)! Similar to Giving Heart, this provides a very natural look to the skin and perfect for everyday.

Aren’t the swatches stunning? Both of these blushes found a permanent spot in my collection.

If these blushes weren’t amazing on their own, they also support Mary Kay’s Beauty That Counts program. This program described on the Mary Kay website:

“Participate in Mary Kay® Beauty That Counts® program and help change the lives of women and children. In Canada, from May 16, 2017 through August 15, 2017, Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd. will donate $2 from each sale of the limited-edition Beauty That Counts® Mary Kay® Baked Cheek Powder. Your purchase benefits The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation in its efforts to assist women living with cancer through the Look Good Feel Better® program and to help end violence against women by providing grants to women’s shelters and community outreach programs.”

With the charitable outlook in mind, these products were very aptly designed and named! To find an independent beauty consultant you can check out the finder here.

Thanks so much for reading! Hope you have a great day!

  1. They look really cute but the price is a touch high than what I like to pay. I feel like I could add another few bucks and get a high end from Sephora.
