Brand Collections: This Works

This Works Skincare

An age old, but rarely focused part of beauty is sleep. It is called beauty sleep for a reason! There’s so many different studies and recommendations on the value of a good night sleep. The thing is, with busy lives and even busier beauty routines, it can be hard to make it a priority. This Works is a newer brand to Canada that focuses on 24 hour skincare solutions to get you feeling your best throughout the day. I have two products that I’ve been trying out and would like to share my thoughts!

The Brand

As mentioned, The Works focuses on skin solutions for your entire day; morning, noon and night. Your skin is exposed to a lot of environmental damage, toxin build, etc. Each product contains a ‘superblend’ of ‘naturally derived and scientifically proven’ trio of ingredients that provide the staples of each item:

  • Natural botanical oils
  • Actives
  • Natural therapeutic fragrances

No Wrinkles Extreme Moisturiser

This Works No Wrinkles Extreme Moisturiser

First off, I’ll say this is one of the prettiest jars of skin cream in my collection. The No Wrinkle Extreme Moisturiser ($84 CAD) is like a big pretty ice cube. I always feel sort of weird trying ‘wrinkle creams’ as I honestly don’t have any to really test it on. Trying this cream though, it’s much more than just a wrinkle cream. After literally one use, I saw a difference. The texture of my skin felt so much smoother and just plumper in general. I think this is a great night cream, but you can use it morning or evening. With continued use, I noticed my skin felt so smooth! I will definitely be continuing to use this and would recommend!

Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

Now for the most unique item I’ve tried in awhile, the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray ($34 CAD). You spray it on your pillow and it’s supposed to help you fall asleep. Funny enough, I’m actually a pretty decent sleeper. I can fall asleep pretty fast, so I was curious to see if this changed my sleeping at all. Spraying it on my pillow, the scent is pretty strong. It smells very ‘herb-y’, (lavender, chamomile, and vetiver to be exact) which some people might have an issue with. For me though, I liked using this instead of my diffuser (which can spit out similar scents). It’s more of a laziness thing instead of filling my diffuser up with water. I found when using this I fell asleep just as fast (thank goodness) but got a more solid sleep. Whenever I woke up, I still felt tired (really bad sleep schedule) but rested. If you have a tough time sleeping and want another solution, this is worth a try!

And there we have some really intriguing skincare from This Works! All in all I was very impressed with the brand. The items seemed original and packed with all good ingredients! I would definitely try out the brand if you can. Sephora has this Beauty Sleep Kit which contains minis of two of their pillow sprays. This might be a good tester to see if it works for you!

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
