Review: Drunk Elephant T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial

Drunk Elephant T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial

During my trip to Disney Springs, the one thing I knew I wanted was the Drunk Elephant T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial. It’s only sold in the States so that made it all the more alluring. I’ve been back from Disney for a little over a month and have been trying this for about the same time. I’m excited to let you know if this is really worth the hype!

Overview

An INCREDIBLE skin care product, but definitely on the pricey side!

Rambling Review

I first heard about this from Ingrid Nilsen (previously missglamorazzi). She was raving about it but mentioned that it had a burning sensation. This made me cautious, but not enough to turn me away! When I was purchasing this at Disney Springs, I had a moment with one of the sales associates. He mentioned that I was going to love it and we were just fawning over it together.

Taking it home with me, there was quite a lot of info on how to use it (which is always helpful). It’s recommended you use it no more than 1-2 times a week. You are also not to use retinols while using this mask which is due to the acids in it (25% AHA and 2% BHA blend including Glycolic plus Tartaric, Lactic, Citric and Salicylic acids).

I really like the packaging too. It’s simple, but so functional. It has a large pump top and dispenses the perfect amount. The mask itself is a beige colour, but actually looks clear after application. One of the things I really love about this is how low maintenance it is. You’re not dealing with goopy or messy masks. I actually went out of the house with this on. It remains tacky for the 20 minutes it’s on, but definitely not like you’re leaving the house with a sheet mask!

In terms of the burning sensation that some people experience, I am happy to report my skin loves this stuff. I’ve used this on active breakouts (like not so nice cyst-y pimples) and I could say I felt it, but I would not say it was anywhere close to burning. My skin is pretty great in terms of trying new products though. For the parts of my skin that are clear, I didn’t even feel this on at all. For those with sensitive skin, I would recommend a spot test. It was not nearly as bad as I was expecting though!

You just wash this off with warm water. After removal, my skin instantly looks brighter, my skin is so soft, and with the continued use, I’ve noticed the texture of my skin has been a lot less bumpy!

Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

They also include a sample size of the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil (which they recommend you use after the Babyfacial). I definitely can see why they recommend using this with the mask just because it really replenishes your face. One thing I noticed was that it was almost too moisturizing for me. The oil never really set down and my face felt pretty greasy hours after application. I think if you’re putting makeup on directly after, you might not notice it as much, but for me, I definitely noticed the greasy-ness. With this being said, my skin felt nice with the oil on top, it’s one of the nicer facial oils I’ve used for sure!

So all in all, I would totally recommend the T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial. I have normal-combo / oily-combo skin and it just drinks it up. I can honestly see this work for a lot of different skin types though, as I didn’t feel it really dried out my skin too much. For dry skin folks, you also have the Marula facial oil sample! The only negative I can really think of for this is the price. I can’t say this is anywhere near affordable, but if you’re interested in skincare that WORKS. I would highly recommend this!

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
