Today I have a review on the Kat Von D Lock-It Color Correcting Eyeshadow Primer. Kat Von D has an entire ‘Lock-It’ line with foundation, concealer, powder and primer. I was interested in trying this eye primer as it’s color (or ‘colour’ for us Canadians) correcting. I’ve tried a few primers such as the ones from Urban Decay and Nars, and definitely wanted to see how this compared!
Can you tell I have a think for alliteration? Lemme just start out by saying that I’m NO fashion blogger and I don’t pretend to be! I also feel a bit weird posting so many photos of myself but new skirt + new Harry Potter + catching Pokemon at the waterfront = asking my boyfriend to take some photos of me. We had just stopped off at Chapters to pick up the new Harry Potter book and were at the waterfront meeting a friend for lunch. We had 10 minutes before hand to kill so I forced him to take some photos. 😉
Canada Day was quite some time ago, but the Canadian Beauty Blogger theme of the month, Canadian Brands, applies all month long! Keeping with the theme, I wanted to introduce you to a brand that I discovered not so long ago, Sudsatorium. They are a bath and cosmetics company similar to Lush, producing shampoo, conditioner, hard soap, and more. I’ve tried a few things that I’ve been very happy with and would like to introduce you to the brand.
Today we have a post that is coming out of left field. As I mentioned in My Travel Beauty Packing List post, I was supposed to go on vacation today. The plan was a cruise to the Caribbean for 5 days with my boyfriend and my friend. Instead of sailing on the open waters I’m at home thanks to American Airlines (I’ll call them AA in the post). I debated posting this as it’s not beauty related at all, but the experience was just too horrific not to share. I apologize in advance as this post will be long and ranty. TL;DR – NEVER fly American Airlines. It’s not worth the rudeness and incompetence.
Travel makeup. It’s almost like an art. You don’t want to be left without your favourite products but at the same time you don’t want to be paying overweight luggage fees! When I went away for a weekend in November I feel like I definitely under packed. I wasn’t happy with the palette I brought and I was wishing for all the glorious makeup I had tucked at home. I thought I would give you some insight on what I decided to pack for my upcoming vacation to the Caribbean!

My usual skincare routine is marginal at best. I am the first one to admit that I don’t take the best care of my skin. I totally understand the investment in skincare means a cleaner canvas for makeup, but I just find myself getting lazy. As I start to get older, I’ve noticed my skin has started to change slightly. I’ve been suffering from hyper pigmentation, and adult acne (if this is adulting I don’t want any part of it!). In comes the Vichy Normaderm skincare line for oily and acne prone skin. I received the collection containing a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer from the Chick Advisor Review Club. Lets get into the review!

Hello there! Today I have a review of a foundation I’ve been waiting forever to try. It Cosmetics is quite hard to find in Canada, but I knew The Shopping Channel sold it. After attending a Cityline taping and receiving a $25 gift card, I decided to pick up the CC cream! Dealing with The Shopping Channel was a nightmare (which I’ll get into later), but after using the CC cream for a bit, I’m really impressed!

I feel like brows are one of those things that no one ever thinks about, but when they change or slay, you take notice. (Isn’t there a Tumblr blog full of celebrities with no eyebrows or something?!). When I first started getting into makeup, I never even really thought of my brows. Now after admitting that I’m a full fledged beauty addict, brows are super important. I’m no expert at brows, but just a teensy bit of work can make a huge difference!

I am a self declared sunscreen addict. My boyfriend will tell you extensively how I’ve forced his hand in slathering sunscreen on those sunny days. From a young age, my mom has instilled in us the importance of sunscreen from her own no-sunscreen youth. When I heard Coppertone had a new Clearly Sheer line of sunscreens out, I was intrigued. I’m always on the lookout for sunscreen (especially facial sunscreens) that don’t leave you feeling super greasy! On with the review!
