Hello! I’ve been doing a lot of Event Recaps lately, but I love to both read and write these! Hope you’re still enjoying reading them! I recently received an amazing opportunity to meet Anastasia Soare, The woman behind the brand Anastasia Beverly Hills. If you’re at all interested in brows or contouring, you’re probably already well versed in her products. It was such an amazing experience, filled with makeovers, makeup, and fun!

Event Recap: Gen Beauty Toronto 2016
If you’re interested in beauty, fashion or blogging, over the past couple of weeks your feed was probably clogged with posts about Gen Beauty. Generation Beauty (or Gen Beauty for short) is a conference related to beauty and social media where ‘gurus’, brands, and beauty lovers come together. Gen Beauty is put on by ipsy, the brand created by Michelle Phan. This was the first year the Gen Beauty conference came to Toronto after being in New York and LA previously.
This post will be my Gen Beauty experience. I wanted to go through booth by booth what happened, what the gifts looked like, and my general thoughts and suggestions about Gen Beauty (a very picture heavy post)! Just a note, I paid for my ticket and did not qualify for a creator pass.

The decor, the music, the food, and the people were just fantastic! I had a great time and thought I would share the experience with you all!

Hello friends! Today I have a review of a Tarte palette! Through the Canadian Beauty Bloggers, I won a contest hosted by Julie from Swatch and Review. She was in the States at the time and offered to pick me up something of my choice! To make the whole thing a bit more interesting, I decided to let her choose and she picked out this gorg palette. So what do I think of it?
Versus: Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint and Maybelline Dream Velvet
*Purchased
A trend that seems like it’s standing the test of time is ‘matte’. Matte lips, matte eyeshadows and matte foundations. Enter Nars and Maybelline. Both companies have released foundations recently that seem to cater to this matte obsession. Nars has their Velvet Matte Skin Tint and Maybelline with their Dream Velvet. I don’t think I’m the only one that sees that the similarity in their names. With me having oily skin, I tend to look for anything with ‘matte’ or ‘mattifying’ in the product name. I’ve been testing both of these foundations for a couple of months and I think I’m ready to review! So the question is, which foundation prevails?
