Rambling Review

I’ll preface this review by saying that I usually get very chapped lips. Summer, winter, it doesn’t really matter. My lips eat up lip balm and I’ve tried so many over the years to find one I like. I’ve used eos products in the past and they have been okay for me. Not a holy grail, but they work well enough that I wouldn’t mind using a few in my routine.

The eos crystal lip balm is a new offering from the company. There are two scents: hibiscus peach and vanilla orchid (I have hibiscus peach to review). The crystal is different from the original eos lip balms as it’s in a triangular prism instead of just a sphere. Another unique feature is the actual balm itself.

The balm is clear and wax-less using 5 natural oils. It’s a cool concept for sure and it looks like it should feel like jelly! (it doesn’t, haha).

Unfortunately the short comings for this products are the actual hydration it provides. I found that the product did not smoothly apply to my lips and I needed a lot of swipes to feel like I got enough product. Even with this, I didn’t feel like I had enough cause my lips would go dry soon after application.

So unfortunately this did not work out for me. The flavour was super pleasant and the concept is cool, but not enough to take me away from my other ride-or-die lip balms.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

    1. Yeah!! Totally agree with your thoughts Jennifer! I find the regular EOS balms okay, but I do have others that work better, so I find I never really reach for them!

      1. I’m surprised at so many negative reviews. I love all eos balms I’ve tried. I just tried the eos Crystal yesterday for the first time, and I absolutely love it! Not heavy/oily feeling like other brands, and it gives me just the right amount of light hydration I like. It’s a definite thumbs up from me! 👍

  1. It certainly looks cute but that’s too bad it didn’t work out for you! I’m not a big fan of eos simply because their blueberry kind broke my lips out in a rash lol. I know a lot of people love them though.

    1. Omg nooooo way. Yeah they were in the news about that which is crazy!! 🙁 Hope it wasn’t too bad though, I would be totally scarred from the experience!

  2. Esos are good quality products… This look amazing!
Can you follow me? I follow you. 😉

    Have a lovely weekend!

  3. I remember when the first EOS came out and they were so hard to find and had such hype. I got one and it was such a let down. It almost made my lips more dry. I am glad I read this because I actually hoped these new ones would be better. Thanks for letting me know and saving me some money.

  4. I tried it just today. I love the look of it. The peachy smell and flavor is awesome. But unfortunately I have to agree, the performance is disappointing. It applies too thinly, I felt like it wasn’t putting anything on my lips, had to keep swiping many times like you said. I was really excited to try this and was hoping it would be great! Oh well. I’ve had better experiences with some of the other Eos balms, though I find the novelty flavored ones like the pumpkin spice or the shimmer balms dry me out. Sorry it didn’t work for you!

  5. I also have a problem with chapped lips, and often times, i buy lip balms that are oily and don’t work, so i melt them down a d add a little bit of beeswax. It helps keep the product on your lips instead of being annoying. I usually do this with organic or natural lip balms, and you really don’t need a lot of wax, or it’ll make it waaay too hard to put on.
